EDUCATOR'S BUDGET

Most Arizonans agree:
All children–no matter who they are or what they look like–should get a great education, one that prepares them for the future and helps them cultivate a lifelong love of learning. But it’s hard to fulfill that vision when Arizona schools struggle to hold onto teachers and staff due to low pay, underfunding and a lack of respect.

ARIZONA NEEDS AN EDUCATORS' BUDGET
As educators who work in Arizona schools, we've seen the effects of underfunding first-hand:
-
2,890 teacher vacancies
-
Thousands of vacancies for school staff
-
Heavy workloads & high stress for educators
-
Less individual attention and support for students

Arizona has a $1.8 billion budget surplus. This is the moment to think big and fight hard for the resources our kids need. As educators, we are calling on our legislature to:

Bring educator salaries closer to the national average

Reduce the cost of healthcare, so that educators don’t have to leave the profession to get healthcare for themselves or their families

Fund key programs like student mental health and full-day kindergarten

Repair school facilities
